      • Where can I register for the race?

        Online at through the secure electronic payment system on the registration platform using your credit or debit card. There will be limited late entries at registration

      • How much does it cost to enter

        50Km SA - R390 (discounts for 60+)50Km Intl & Africa - R500
        21km - R230 (discounts for 60+)
        There is an online entry fee of R8 + 5.5% payable on your entry.

      • Can I enter by Fax or Email and deposit the Entry Free into a Bank Account?

        No - only online entries are accepted and payment via Mastercard, Visa cards. There are no late entries possible.

      • I did not complete my Online Registration, and when I try again it says I have already entered? What do I do?

        Shut down your internet browser completely and start again at

      • When do entries close?

        Entries close once the caps are reached or the 31/01/2020, whichever comes first

      • Can I do a substitution

        If you would like to substitute your entry, you will need to log into your race profile using the credentials supplied to you with your race entry confirmation email. Once logged in you will find an option to "Transfer Entry" to process a subsitution. From here simply follow the system prompts. A voucher code will be issued to the person giving up their entry and this voucher code will then need to be used by the new entrant. 

        The new entrant must then visit the entry portal where, they will process the entry as per normal however when they reach payment stage they must then use the substitution voucher they have received. Once the voucher has been used the additional charges must be paid via credit/debit card. 

        Please note the following important information :

        Once the entry has been given up, the person giving up the entry may not enter another distance.
        The system will also prompt you to confirm your substitution and once done this can not be reversed.
        There will be a subsitution fee of R50 plus any applicable administration/transaction fees. This will be payable by the new entrant on completion of their entry. 
        If a runner substitutes their entry, it is the runner's responsibility to collect the entry fee from the runner who has claimed their entry.
        No refunds will be processed by the event and no entrant may onsell their entry for more than the entry fee. Any person found doing this will be reported to their club and the relevant provincial and national bodies.
        Any products purchased with the original race entry will NOT pass across to the new entrant.
        Any merchandise purchased for the entry given up will be available for collection by the original entrant at the information desk at race number collection at Harties on the Friday before the race.
        Once the substitution window is closed no further subsitutions will be possible.
        There will be no substitutions or changes permissable at race number collection or after the substitution window period has closed on 5th February 2020.

        Please take note that the race rules prohibits a runner to run with another runner’s race number. Therefor the only way to give your number to another runner is by following the abovementioned substitution process.

      • Can I change the distance I have entered

        Runners who would like to upgrade or downgrade their distance will be allowed to do so. 
        Please note that in the case of an upgrade the fee will be R150 across all age categories plus any administration/transaction fees, but in the case of a downgrade no refunds will be given. 
        Login to your entry, select "EDIT" and amend the "Distance Change" field which can be found beneath the "Distance" field. 
        Once done select update, which will take you to payment for upgrades only!
        Once completed you can log out. You will receive an email confirmation of the change.
        All changes will be updated to the system once the Distance Change period closes on the 5th February 2020.

      • Where can I collect my race pack?

        - Select the Free PostNet option with entry and collect from your closest PostNet. Uncollected packs will be forfeited and will not be available at Hartbeespoort- Friday 13th March 2020 from 10h00 to 21h00 at the Hartbeespoort Marathon Club

      • What must I bring with me to collect my race pack?

        ID, Driver’s License or PassportConfirmation of registration emailChampionChip

      • Can someone collect my race pack on my behalf if I am not able to?

        Yes, simply print their email confirmation and a letter confirming that you may collect it

      • What if I miss the prescribed race pack collection times and don't manage to fetch my race pack, can I collect the race pack on race day?

        No Race Packs may be collected on Race Day

      • What happens if it rains?

        The race will continue in adverse weather conditions unless the safety officer deems it unsafe to continue. There are no refunds whatsoever.

      • How will the Race timing work?

        Race Timing is done using ChampionChip and you are required to own a chip. You may hire a chip for the day. Chips may be purchased or hired online when purchasing your entry

      • Can I park anywhere?

        Parking will be provided at the venue. Please note that parking is at your own risk. The organising committee may not be held responsible for theft or damage to any vehicle and its contents

      • What time should I be at the start by?

        We recommend getting there as early as possible. Runners must be ready and in the start pens at least 15 minutes before their designated race start time

      • What happens if I am late for the start?

        The start line will be closed 15 minutes after the Gun is fired. Start times are :  50km – 06h0021km – 06h45

      • Will there be toilets at the start, on route and at the finish?

        Yes, toilets will be available

      • Will there be hydration stations?

        Yes, approximately every 3 kilometers.

      • Can my family and friends come watch?

        Yes, they are welcome to come and watch you run. Spectators will also be able to track the race live using the UltimateLive timing App

      • Does my Entrance Fee include a Race T-Shirt?

        No - however you may purchase a T-Shirt with your race entry at R210

      • Where can I find my Race results?

        Live race results will be available on race day via the ChampionChip website at

      • Will I get a medal?

        Yes, all participants who finish the race within the specified cut off times will receive a race medal.
